WELCOME

Hello, I’m Macala. I teach women over 40 how to quiet their minds and manage their anxiety so that they can be present and enjoy their lives. 

Where It Started

Like many women, probably like you, I went to college, started off in a professional career, and

eventually started my own company. In 15 years, I built something that most women would be proud of.  But in 2017, what I built felt hollow. What used to fill me up, now left me with a feeling empty.

More often than not, I didn’t even have the energy to get out of bed. I was agitated, anxious, and often fell victim to the conversations running in my head.  And then, I had an Elizabeth Gilbert Eat, Pray, Love moment. In the book, she wrote:

Hadn’t I wanted this? I had actively participated in every moment of the creation of this life. So why didn’t I see myself in any of it? The only thing more impossible than staying was leaving.

MY MISSION

To teach women over 40 to get out of their heads and into their hearts, and live in the present moment.

Where It took me

I realized that how I was living and working didn’t align with the woman I had become.

And I knew I couldn’t stay like this. I had re-create my life to fit who I had become – afterall, my spiritual health and inner well-being depended on it.

I Wanted to Make Wellness More Inclusive

And in my learning, I kept finding that many practices were time-intensive, trend-driven, or predominantly marketed towards young, white women who could afford very expensive wellness products and services. 

I saw the barrier to entry and decided to do something about it. I decided to create my own version of inclusive wellness, that focused on professionals who were also over 40, and didn’t have time to go sit on a mountain. 

Let’s Create Wellness That Works

Over the course of three years, I learned to to quiet my mind and manage my anxiety by learning to regulate my nervous system. And I did that throught breathwork, meditation, and outdoor mindfulness experiences.

One morning, I consciously realized that the anxiety stopped, the racing thoughts stopped, and the voices in my head went silent. The decompression and space it allowed was beautiful. 

And now, I help other women achieve this. So if you’re woman over 40, a working professional, who’s overwhelmed, can't get out of your head, I invite you to explore and develop a wellness practice with me. It’ll be dirty and gritty, but it will be done with grace and it will be real.
